Leader: In the breaking light of morning
Response: God calls us to greet the day with hope and expectation

Leader: At times of sadness, tears and sorrow
Response: God calls us to compassion and understanding

Leader: When tension is high and fear surrounds
Response: God calls us to patience and peace.

Leader: When the clamor of the world is the only sound we hear
Response: God calls to us in a still small voice

Leader: You call to us all, Lord
Response: You have given us the heart for ministry.

Leader: Help us to be worthy of this extraordinary call and hear your people as we say:
All: Praise be to God forever!

Leader: You taught us to tend sheep…
Response: …though we were not shepherds.

Leader: You brought us to a well…
Response: …though we did not know we had thirst.

Leader: You made us fishermen…
Response: …upon the dry land

Leader: You have taught us
Response: … the smallest of faith can move mountains.

Leader: You have made our burden light…
Response: …so we might serve others.

Leader: When we struggled with words…
Response: …you taught us to pray.

Leader: You have equipped us with the gifts of ministry.
All: Empower us to use these gifts that we might ever sing your praises and spread your love to all the world. Amen

Invocation
Almighty God – Teaching, prophecy, hospitality, preaching, service, compassion, giving, faith, and more; the gifts of ministry showered on your people. Open our eyes to these gifts and bless those who have answered your call. Amen.
