Ideally the recognition is led by a congregational lay leader – chair/moderator of the board/congregation; chair of - Pastoral Relations Committee, Elders, Personnel Comt., Worship, etc…

Each congregation should determine the breadth and depth of recognition they would like to share within each congregation. The following may be modified to suit the needs of each congregation.

Invite to stand or come forward the ministers of the congregation – ordained and lay ministers; church staff - administrators/secretaries/office managers, maintenance, child/nursery care, music ministry, media ministry, etc…

Leader: You have been called by this congregation and the Holy Spirit to serve. You give from your heart and your faith inspires us.

Leader: You help us understand the scripture. You provide the tools for worship, fellowship and service.

Leader: You give melody to our faith. You prepare our worship space. You teach and care for our children.

Leader: When we are away from this place, you provide a welcome on our behalf. You challenge us to greater understanding. You lead where we may not always follow.

Leader: For answering God's call, and serving each of us

Thank you, O God, for the blessings that come from our shared ministry. Forgive us when we take for granted these, your servants. We are grateful for the gifts of ministry you have provided.
